Most sensitive to the translation of textiles onto this plasticine, we started playing with fabrics varying in technique and scale. As a result, ‘Tex’ features fabrics like a man’s suit, kitchen towel or a summer blanket.
Tex comes in eight different colours, which are each then split into three different tones: a mixture inspired by textile design where a single type of fabric might be composed of different coloured yarns.
The tiles are rhombus in shape, and act as an enlargement of a basic knitted stitch which when aligned create the «fabric». This effect is furthered with each colour range comprising of three different shades, allowing for arbitrary arrangements which further communicate the «textured» nature of the tiles.
