For their fifth collaboration with Louis Vuitton’s Objet Nomades, Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay present an experimental sculptural upholstered seating piece defined by a projected geometric pattern that appears stretched across its three-dimensional form.

Departing from conventional upholstery, the design applies the graphic from above, projecting it rather than simply wrapping it, to create a continuous surface across individually upholstered sections. The piece builds on the studio’s Endgrain ongoing research, previously exhibited at Chatsworth House Sculpture Gallery, where two-dimensional patterns and sculptural volumes intersect.
